Job Finding Service for 50+
The Thirdquarter.ca web site provides a service to match the experience and skills of 50+ job seekers to the needs of local employers. Bill Smith, Executive Director, says that the service delivers position descriptions to job seekers, and delivers the resumes of interested and well matched potential employees to organizations.
The government funded service has been running for two years as a pilot project in smaller Western centres. It placed an estimated 1,500 people in jobs out of 5,000 people who registered on the site. It is now rolling out across Canada, starting in Winnipeg, then Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto, and ultimately nation-wide.
